Elizabeth (Liz) Carr is an Adlerian Therapist and Psychotherapist who has been providing counselling in community agencies, hospitals, and residential settings since 2000. She is the Owner and Director of Centre Stage Counselling & Stress Management Training.
Liz is known for her dynamism and creativity. She combines elements of play, drama, music, art, and story-telling in her work with individuals, children, youth, and families. Liz inspires her clients to move gently beyond their comfort zones and actively take steps towards positive transformation.
Liz also likes to combine humour in her work with clients and presentations. She is a member of Ottawa Toastmasters and holds the distinctions of Competent Communicator and Competent Leader. She especially embraces the humourous speaking role where she practices performing some of her new jokes. Liz has even performed a humourous routine at Yuk Yuks.
Liz is a member of Developmental Transformations (DvT) Montreal where she participates in a unique type of drama therapy training. She plans to incorporate these approaches in her work with individual clients and groups in the near future.
Liz obtained her Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, Illinois. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists, and Psychotherapists (OACCPP). She is also a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO).
